Vantastic Vanhydrock wedding for Katy and Billy!

Katy and Billy’s wedding today at Lanhydrock.

Following Anna’s and Lee’s wedding yesterday, a re-polished very shiny Lola set course for Bodmin this morning with me, Chauffeur Bob, once more at the wheel.

We arrived on cue to collect Katy and her dad, Derek, and made the short trip to the beautiful Lanhydrock Estate. Despite an ominous looking sky, the weather again defied what looked inevitable, and was to remain kind to us throughout the day.

We paused as we neared the church to roll back Lola’s ragtop and with Katy and her dad bathed in lashings of light, the cameras were clicking away as we made the most majestic of arrivals.

During the ceremony, Lola attracted a significant number of visitors, mainly from people visiting Lanhydrock House… she’s getting used to handling the Paparazzi!

Katy disclosed on the way to church that many of their guests are also big VW campervan fanatics, so to be prepared for a great deal of interest. No change there then! Katy wasn’t joking… the congregation emerged from the church slack jawed with many taking on a now familiar, smiling hypnotic ‘I’m in love’ gaze.

Lola and her siblings really do reach the parts other wedding vehicles fail to touch. Someone hit the nail on the head by commenting, “these vehicles are much, much more than just transport for the day!”

With the champers corked and their glasses charged, the newly weds departed for their reception at Pentewan Sands.

The sun unfortunately never really got going today for Katy and Billy but at least it remained dry. One thing is for sure, they had a vantastic time with Lola!

A honeymoon in the Dominican Republic looms, which will certainly make up for the bashful sun on their wedding day.

Katy and Billy take with them our congratulations and very best wishes XX
