Rachel and Jason’s wedding at Gwithian with Lulu on Saturday 9th June 2012
Trelissick Farm this way… a sign of a good wedding!
Chauffeur Alan had the honour of driving for Rachel and Jason’s wedding yesterday in Lulu and has just sent us this report…
I arrived at Strawberry Leisure HQ to be greeted by a gleaming Lulu, this is the first time Lulu and I have been together for a while, so I did the necessary checks and headed out for my pick up of Rachel and her dad Rob.
With a ceremony time set for midday, I pulled-up at the pre-arranged pick-up location as planned at 11.30am. Rachel mentioned during an earlier briefing conversation, that it would be easier to call her dad on arrival than try to find their apartment. They would then come down to meet me and Lulu. Following instructions, I dialled Rob’s number a couple of times without success, only his answerphone message.
It was at this stage I started to become a trifle concerned. My worries were thankfully, short lived as Rachel strolled around the corner looking absolutely amazing followed by her dad, who glanced at me with a smile. “I did try calling you,” I said. “It’s Rachel’s day, so I decided to leave my phone at home” Rob retorted!
Whilst still laughing, we boarded Lulu and headed for Gwithian Church where we arrived on time. Rachel spent a few moments adjusting her veil before entering the church on cue escorted by her dad.
Due to its location, picturesque Gwithian Church does not get many pedestrians passing by. However the amount of vehicle’s that tooted, some taking pictures with their phone cameras as they passed Lulu during the ceremony was amazing.
After a while, the church bells burst into life and out came Rachel and Jason with big smiles on their faces. Photos were taken in front of the Church before joining Lulu for many more. We then popped the cork, charged the glasses and headed for a photo call at Godrevy, one of Lulu’s favourite spots, against the magnificent backdrop of its iconic landmark lighthouse and beaches.
We reluctantly had to depart the evocative setting of Godrevy for our penultimate stop before their reception, the newlyweds soon to be home, for a few poses outside.
We finally arrived at the reception venue, a splendid marquee in the grounds of Trelissick Farm, Hayle
Fortunately the weather was kind to Rachel and Jason throughout their proceedings in the Bay of St Ives. We only had a few light spots of rain for the day, and if that is an omen for their life together I’m sure it will be a good one.
All the best to Rachel and Jason xx
More pictures will be added soon.
