Renee with Kieron and Lola at St Michael’s Hotel in Falmouth

Renee and Kieron’s wedding at Pendennis Castle on Saturday 18th May 2013 with camper van ‘showgirl’ Lola

Britain’s membership of the EEC and the ongoing in/out/referendum political debate was still dominating the national news the day Renee and Kieron got married.

In Cornwall, yesterday’s first visit ever visit to St Ives of Her Majesty was doing the rounds on radio, TV and in the local rags.

The sun was streaming through the window as I arrived at Strawberry Leisure HQ, writes Chauffeur Alan …

As I drove through the gate, Lola was waiting for me, gleaming in the sunlight, eagerly anticipating being a part of Renee and Kieron’s special day.

I had a lovely casual ride to Falmouth and arrived with time to spare, so I stopped to give Lola a quick ‘spruce up’ before driving to the St. Michaels Hotel. From here, the plan was to do two runs to Pendennis Castle; first with the bridesmaids and then with Renee (the bride) and her father.

Immediately pulling up outside the hotel, Lola started to attract a number of admiring glances; so much so, as I strolled inside she was already the attention of many cameras!

Announcing my arrival at reception, the staff made a phone call and shortly afterwards the foyer was filled with four beautiful women and Bob (the father – he was brill!)

Renee’s beautiful bridesmaids, Andrea, Laura and Laura – yes, two Laura’s.

After we had introduced ourselves, it was time for the first run, so the bridesmaids; Andrea, Laura and another Laura boarded Lola and after some photos, off we went. Going across the seafront, we had the klaxon going and lots of waving went on.

As we approached the Castle, Stewart Girvan, the photographer, was waiting; taking photos as we chugged nearer and he captured the bridesmaids arriving.

Proud dad, Bob, with Renee composing themselves for the off!

I turned around and headed back to pick up the bride, Renee and her father Bob. After more photos, we did the same run back to the Castle, where once more Stewart was waiting to capture some fabulous photos before Renee and her bridesmaids went in to the castle for the ceremony.

A little later as the drinks ands canapes were being quaffed and munched, Stewart came out to discuss the running order for photos as we had a time schedule to follow.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Broad!

That sorted, Stewart ushered everyone out for the formal set of snaps after which the guests started their departure in preparation for the reception, just a pebble’s throw away at St Michaels Hotel. The time had now come for Renee and her new Husband, Kieron, to have a few memorable moments and photos alone, before their reception. We first took some with Lola (of course), popped the champers, rolled the rag top back and then headed down to Castle Beach where, I am sure, Stewart was able to capture some lovely shots. Before long, it was time to return to the hotel, where there was just time for a few more photos outside and it was then time for me to leave.
