Jackie and Rob’s wedding at Trereife House on Saturday 10th August 2013 with Lulu.
One of the nicest stories making the news (and potential history) the day that Jackie and Rob tied the knot concerned a Giant Panda called Tian Tian.
Following a 16-week wait, keepers at Edinburgh Zoo believe she may be pregnant. If so, one or two cubs could arrive by the end of the month – the first ever to be born in the UK.
Meanwhile in Moscow, the 14th IAAF Athletics world championships began with an astonishing win by Mo Farah in the men’s 10,000m.
Meanwhile back in ‘Blighty’ and attired in full chauffeuring regalia rather than running shorts and trainers, Chauffeur Alan jumped aboard Lulu for the 16,000m dash to Portreath to collect ‘the boys’. This is his report….
I arrived at Strawberry Leisure HQ at 10.30am to find Lulu all ready and waiting for me.
My journey today was to go to Portreath and pick up the Groom; Rob, Best Man; John and Rob’s brother; Tom, so after the usual pre flight checks, I trundled off up the bypass.
Time for a good luck toast before departing Portreath.
At the appointed time of 11am I arrived in a light shower of rain to pick up the boys and as I stopped so did the rain, with impeccable timing! After a few photos our VIP’s boarded Lulu. As we had plenty of time, it was decided not to rush and so we took the coast road to Treriefe House where the ceremony was to be held.
Here we go!
By mid-day we had arrived at Treriefe. While the boys got things sorted Lulu was, as usual, the centre of attention for a short while and focal point for a lot of photographs.
Jackie, the bride, had stayed overnight at Treriefe and had no doubt spent the morning with her bridesmaids in a state of nervous excitement, busy preparing.
Precisely on schedule, Jackie and her bridesmaids descended the staircase in regal like style. The time had come and Jackie and Rob’s life changing appointment was underway.

When the now Mr. & Mrs. Cockerill emerged from the ceremony, I strategically manoeuvred Lulu into position for photographs.
Official picture taker was Dan Ward and old school friend of Jackie’s.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Cockerill!
With some wonderful poses and memories now safely recorded, Rob, Jackie and Dan joined Lulu as we headed for Marazion for a few intimate, special moments.
Fortunately I was able to drive onto the beach and despite a sprinkling of ‘Mizzle’, the light rain didn’t deter the newlyweds from savouring their ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity, whilst Dan busily snapped away.
With our happy couple reflecting on some treasured moments we headed back to a Trereife House reception to reunite them with their guests and get the formal celebrations well and truly underway.
We wish Jackie and Rob all the best for the future x.
