The wedding of Jenny Hill and Wayne Brown at St Petroc’s Church, Bodmin, Cornwall, on Saturday 26th April 2014, with ‘Party-Girl’ Lily
The weather could have been better – much better in fact! For two consecutive wedding weekends now it’s been chilly, windy and very wet at times. It’s surprising sometimes how it appears to conspire. Nonetheless our intrepid, fun loving couple and everyone else come to that, still had a fantastic time.
Making the headlines the day that our happy couple tied the knot was very little that could be considered groundbreaking or historic in any sense. The only common story was the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s return from their tour of New Zealand and Australia with a certain ‘Boy George’ stealing the show.

Fortunately today was tornado free. It did seem at times though as if the rain was trying to set a new world record as well!
Despite the sogginess, I, Chauffeur Bob, arrived at Jenny’s Bodmin based bridal boudoir to be greeted with smiles and happiness – so much so, the effusiveness was contagious. Such great British spirit I though to myself. I immediately sensed that despite the unfriendly elements, we were in for a fun day. I wasn’t wrong!
Arrangements had been made for the bridesmaids, paige boys and Jenny’s mum, Anne, to be transported to Bodmin’s St Petroc’s Church separately. Nonetheless, before their departure we took full advantage of a brief interlude in the precipitation to grab a couple of lovely poses with Lily.
The colourful and happy cast included bridesmaids; Mandy, Louise, Nicky, Cheryl, Megan and Loren, flower girl; Isla and not forgetting paige boys; Harrison and Johnny.
It wasn’t long before Jenny emerged from the house escorted by her proud dad, Steve. The rain held off long enough for a few poses prior to boarding Lily for Jenny’s journey of a lifetime and her 2pm appointment with a Mr. Brown.
The wetness returned on cue as we arrived at our destination, a place clearly built many moons before the main roads converged at a roundabout, all placed right on its doorstep!
With an army of umbrellas at the ready, our VIP’s were quickly ushered up the steps, down the path and into the church… the proceedings were well and truly underway.
It rained ‘cats and dogs’ throughout the ceremony and indeed for some time after. So much so, official picture taker for the day; Tony, had to get the formal sets taken inside the church. Jessie Foot, the videographer was also busy doing what Videographers do.
Eventually the umbrellas returned to chaperone the happy couple to the awaiting Lily. We popped the champers, snapped a few more memories and made haste for Newquay – the Carnmarth Hotel to be exact.
Originally, Mr. and Mrs. Brown had planned to go to one of Newquay’s beaches for photos en-route to the reception. Alas and understandably, conditions dictated otherwise, so it was decided to head straight for the Carnmarth.
Ironically, as we arrived, a gap in clouds appeared and the sun made its apologies by showering us for a brief period with warm sunshine. Suffice it to say, I wasted no time in getting Lily’s ragtop rolled back for a few final photos with Jenny and Wayne upstanding and simply savouring every moment.
Our very best wishes go to a really lovely couple x.
