The wedding of Nicki Chapman and Philip Morford on Saturday 12th April 2014 at Boconnoc Church, Lostwithiel, with ‘showgirl’ Lola.
A brace of beautiful weddings today saw ‘party-girl’ Lily under the auspices of our ever-popular Chauffeur Bob heading south for Falmouth, where Karen and Andy would be tying the knot.
Meanwhile, ‘showgirl’ Lola with yours truly, Chauffeur Steff, at the pedals made haste eastbound; Dobwalls to be precise, in search of Nicki’s bridal boudoir.
The headline news this week was pretty much dominated by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their royal tour of Australia and New Zealand with the young Prince George in tow.
Celebrity birthdays today yielded a musical note or two: David Cassidy singer (64), Guy Berryman of Coldplay (36) along with Herbie Hancock jazz pianist, bandleader and composer (74).
On this day in history:
1861 – The American Civil War kicked off
1961 – Soviet Union fired the first man into space; Yuri Gagarin
Back to the matter in hand and…
2014 – Nicki Chapman weds Philip Morford
Not too many days ago I was treated to a special cave wedding at Carnglaze Caverns. By contrast, today I found myself chauffeuring another lovely couple of newlyweds in breathtaking scenery that makes up the private Estate of Boconnoc.
Arriving in good time in downtown Dobwalls, I collected an excited bridal party: Nicki, escorted by her Stepdad, Stuart along with Maid of Honour, Emily and Bridesmaids, Esme, Ava and Courtney boarded Lola for a fun filled chug to Lostwithiel.
Nicki and Philip had chosen the setting of Boconnoc Church, majestically nestled within the Estate at Lostwithiel for their wedding ceremony. Mostly I guess, because of the picturesque scenery and the magnificent 12th century house, not forgetting of course, the highly maintained gardens and woodlands.
They certainly weren’t going to be disappointed today; everything looked absolutely resplendent as we gracefully, albeit ‘noisily’ chugged our way through the Estate to the church.
This really is quite a special place I thought to myself .. seemingly revealing a little bit of magic from every nook and cranny.
Following the service, honoured guests chaperoned a very happy couple on a stroll down to the nearby House. Here, everyone relaxed on the manicured lawns as the congratulations continued.
With the wedding folk now basking in the sun, I slipped away and strategically positioned Lola at the top of the drive, using Boconnoc House as a photogenic backdrop.
Whilst waiting for Nicki and Philip, who were busy posing on the lawn behind us for official picture taker Stephen Tolley, guests were queuing up for a pose of their own alongside a rather flirtatious Lola.
Copious snaps later we eventually popped open the ‘champers’ to officially toast Mr. and Mrs. Morford’s union. With Lola’s rag top back, Nicki and Philip stood up and sipped as we drove slowly through the Estate and headed off for the reception at the Hannafore Point Hotel in Looe.
A beautiful wedding and a smashing couple… we wish them all the very best for their future health and happiness x.
