About Us
Strawberry Leisure is unashamedly customer facing, family run business.
Introducing Wilf our new family member born in July 2010
He’ll be a Bedlington Terrier when he grows up!
Personal service, attention to detail, exacting quality and value for money is what we offer in everything we do.
We are easy to contact, we like to speak to you on the telephone or in person, we promptly return calls and emails and if we say we are going to do something – we do. How refreshing!
Here in the outstandingly beautiful Bay of St. Ives, we, the Amos family, are living our dream.

In 2005 we sold up and moved from Buckinghamshire to our lovely Cornish cottage, ideally and idyllically situated in Strawberry Lane on the outskirts of Hayle in the spectacular Bay of St. Ives.

Strawberry Holiday Lodges
Our stunning holiday lodges from the air
In 2006 we opened our private and exclusive holiday lodges. Holidays are so special. They are hard-earned and precious. That’s why we, the Amos family, set about creating this equally as special private haven.
Classic VW split screen campervan wedding transport and hospitality
Early in the spring of 2009 we launched our classic split screen VW campervan, chauffeur driven wedding transport hire service.
Two highly desirable beauties from the dry states of California and Texas arrived in the autumn of 2008 and underwent professional restoration inside and out for completion in time for the Spring of 2009.
Lulu and Lola, as they have been named are, of course, getting on a bit in years, but following their makeovers they certainly look more than 10 years younger!
In view of the significant amounts we have lavished on their makeovers, hopefully they will forgive us for disclosing their approximate ages…
Lulu is a beautiful red and white 1965 split screen camper and Lola (cream/white), well she is royalty and rightly so. As a 1964 splitty Kombi bus with a full length rag-top, Lola is believed to be the only one of her kind in the whole of the UK. Lola and Lulu are used exclusively for ‘head turning’ chauffer driven wedding hire.
Our latest and spectacular campervan addition – Lily the 21 window SAMBA
Due to the incredible success and popularity of Lola and Lulu, we decided to make a further large scale investment into our acclaimed wedding transport business through the acqusition of a 1964, 21 window Samba.
The Samba went into production in 1951 and is the most sought after and valuable of all split screen transporters.
Lily, as she is now was born in 1964 and like her siblings, Lola and Lulu spent most of her working life in America. However, her interesting past centred around Sioux Falls, South Dakota – Sioux Indian territory!
She made the long trip to Cornwall in 2006 and was acquired for restoration by Strawberry Leisure in July 2010.
We finally took delievery of Lily following her lengthy, professional restoration in the spring of 2011. Suffice it to say, she has been extremely busy ever since!
New for 2012 – Strawberry Leisure get the bug for Mr.Darcy
In August 2011 we added to our fleet of split screen campervans with the arrival of Mr Darcy, an extremely rare 1955 Volkswagen Beetle.Since our launch in April 2009 our feet have barely touched the ground. So much so, we’ll finish 2011 doing an amazing number of weddings. We only conduct one wedding per day with each vehicle so the safe arrival in the spring of our third campervan, Lily, a gorgeous 21 window, cream and white Samba came as a great relief. Demand for 2012 and
beyond is also incredibly high so when, by chance, we were presented with the opportunity and honour to acquire Mr. Darcy we literally jumped at the chance.
Mr Darcy is a 1955 VW Beetle, and having just undergone an incredible 8 year professional restoration programme, he makes an ideal ‘vroom’ for the groom!
He has had only three owners from new, is finished in original VW ‘Polar Silver’ paintwork, has a Golde ragtop, oval rear window, semaphore indicators and is in the process of being re-trimmed in radiant red upholstery with cream piping. Indeed, everything has been restored to its original state, even down to the badges, arm (semaphore) indicators and Bowden cable operated fuel gauge!”
